Greetings from the Center for Gifted Education!
I hope you are all well. We are presenting our programming for our youngest learners; students rising into PreK4 and K in the Fall of 2026! While we have been using Destination Imagination® (DI) as the framework for our Academic Enrichment Programs for five years, we are thrilled to begin our first year of using DI as the framework for our Early Learners.
This year, the Helping Hands Early Learning Challenge is all about Community Helpers. I have attached the program flyer for your review.
DI teaches students the creative thinking process. The DI activities are grouped into team challenges and instant challenges. When students learn the creative thinking process, they learn to ask better questions and learn to work collaboratively in groups to synthesize solutions to the Destination Imagination challenges.
Students learn that failures are an important part of learning. DI is a true STEAM program. See below for information about the Early Learning Team Challenge:

Half Day - 8 am - 12 pm
8 am - 9 am Welcome and Free play
9 am - 12 pm - DI Session

Program Option Two
Full Day
8 am - 9 am Welcome and Free play
9 am - 12 pm - DI Session
12 pm - 1 pm - Lunch
1 pm - 4 pm - Directed Creative Activities
4 pm - 5 pm - Pick-Up
$325.00 for the week
If your child is a previous participant, they have the status of returning student. You may register your returning student for the program.
Gifted/Talented Identification is not required.
All new participants must submit a one-time, non-refundable, $25.00 Application for Admission. The Screening Window for Admission to the Summer Programs presented by the Center for Gifted Education is currently OPEN. The application fee covers the review of the parent/guardian and teacher checklists, GT Paperwork, and any standardized test scores by Dr. Bruce-Davis. See the Application for specifics.
